Overcomes security risks from expensive and difficult to manage VPNs, SD-WANs, and open ports.
I had the opportunity to speak with Don Boxley, CEO of DH2i about their new DxOdyssey IoT edge-optimized software-defined perimeter (SDP) solution. We Don and his team launched DXOdyssey security, it helped people and systems securely access other people and systems. The environment has expanded with the proliferation of IoT devices, therefore the purview of DXOdyssey has expanded as well.
Having covered IoT over the past six years, I know the trouble companies and developers have getting software and IoT device hardware to talk to each other, as well as being able to secure the myriad IoT devices in the market.
With more data on the edge, companies are focusing more money and effort on hardware and software to ensure edge computing will work. According to Gartner, there will be 80 billion connected IoT devices by 2025, generating 180 zettabytes of data, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 28.7 percent. Gartner also predicted that by 2025, 75 percent of enterprise-generated data will be created and processed out of the data center or cloud, up from 20 percent today. Likewise, McKinsey advised that edge computing would represent a potential value of $175 billion - $215 billion in hardware by 2025. And, according to Verified Market Research, the Global IoT market size was valued at $212.1 billion in 2018 and is expected to grow 25.68 percent between 2019-2026 and reach $1,319.08 billion by 2026.
DxOdyssey for IoT was designed for medium and large organizations’ IoT deployments, that need secure and discreet network connectivity between their edge devices, data center, and cloud. DxOdyssey for IoT is a cost-effective network connectivity solution that scales from edge devices to the largest data center servers and cloud platforms and is easy to configure and manage. Offered via a small-footprint container (< 250mb), DxOdyssey for IoT enables organizations to build and manage secure, dynamic end-to-end data tunnels between edge device services, data center, and cloud hubs, creating a Zero Trust network architecture that virtually eliminates any attack surface.
According to Don, “DxOdyssey for IoT enables organizations to build secure, dynamic workload-centric connections between edge devices, datacenter and cloud environments at the highest ROI – all while eliminating network attack surfaces. For the first time, organizations will be freed from traditional IoT connectivity solutions that use VPNs, SD-WANs, or open ports that require in-depth networking knowledge, are expensive and tedious to configure, and create large and dangerous attack surfaces.”
DXOdyssey for IoT works with Microsoft’s AzureSQL Edge and is available as an edge module in and Microsoft Azure Marketplace to simplify the integration of hardware and software providing infrastructure to enable the greater success of IoT initiatives.
